Community Involvement

Pop Top Drop, a charity effort by Smiles for Life Dental Care
Our team is dedicated to serving the community with the highest quality of care.

Dentistry from the Heart

Dentistry from the Heart

Beginning in 2011, our office participated in Dentistry from the Heart one day out of every year to provide free dental work to those in the most need. Volunteers from our office and the community worked together to provide fillings, extractions, and cleanings all day long at absolutely no cost to the patients. Throughout the day, we would serve nearly 100 people, donating almost $100,000 of dental care to the community. We know that our office has been blessed throughout the years, and we have made it a priority to give back however and whenever we can. That’s why we’ve continued our tradition of giving back by partnering with Remote Area Medical.

We currently partner with Remote Area Medical to provide free dental care to members of our community.

We perform everything from fillings to extractions during our dedicated day of charity dentistry.

Helping Haitian Angels

Helping Haitian Angels

The Smiles for Life dental team is proud to support the non-profit organization Helping Haitian Angels. Dr. McIntyre, Becky, and other members of our team travel to the orphanage in the Kay Anj Village and provide all the dental care they can to the children in need and the surrounding community. Through the years, the dental clinic has improved greatly with new equipment donated by suppliers and through monetary donations from our patients and community members.

Dr. McIntyre, Becky, and some of our team will be returning to Haiti this year, and they will still face great challenges in treating the children without further improved equipment. If you would like to help us provide much needed dental care to these children please click here, then select “Dental Clinic” under the section labeled “Apply my gift to:”. Doing this will help to purchase vitally needed equipment for our dental clinic in the Kay Anj Village.

Check out our blog post here for more information and to see tons of pictures from the
McIntyre’s visit to Haiti.

RAM Event

Our office participated in RAM – Remote Area Medical – in March of 2019. This event provided free vision and medical screenings and dental cleanings, fillings and extractions. It was a great coming together of MANY people in our community. On Saturday we were able to treat 471 people and provide $206,485 in services. It was a great day and a great blessing to be part of it.

Smiles for Life Foundation Whitening Campaign

Smiles for Life Foundation Whitening Campaign

For the first time in 2019, our office participated in the Smiles for Life Foundation Whitening Campaign. From March through June, the proceeds from every smile that was whitened in our office went to charities that help children in need around the world. We raised nearly $5,000 and hope to raise even more next year!

Cavity-Free Kids Club

Cavity-Free Kids Club

At Smiles for Life, we recognize the importance of good dental health from the start. That is why we have our very own Cavity-Free Kids Club to celebrate our patients ages 13 and under who come in without any cavities to their cleaning appointments. These patients receive a certificate, a medal, and a coupon for free ice cream from Kline’s Dairy Bar. We also like to honor them by putting their picture up on our Wall of Fame in the office as well as posting their photo to our Facebook page (both with signed parental permission only). Of course, it wouldn’t be a club without a meeting! Every year we celebrate our cavity-free kids by hosting a “club meeting” party.

Patient Appreciation Picnic

Patient Appreciation Picnic

Every summer, we host a free picnic for our patients, their friends and families, and anyone in the community who may want to stop by. We provide prizes, food, dessert, and entertainment. Through the picnic, we hope to show our patients how much we appreciate the love and support they give to us every day. We love having the opportunity to interact with our community and show them who we are in and out of the office.

Open Doors

Open Doors

Twice a year, our office volunteers at Open Doors, a local homeless shelter. Open Doors provides shelter and a warm meal for up to 40 people a day. It is a community shelter that is sponsored by a different church organization each week. When Smiles for Life volunteers, we prepare and serve food at whichever church is hosting, providing a home-made meal to many people who would have gone hungry.

Halloween Candy Give-Back for the Troops

Halloween Candy Give-Back for the Troops

After every Halloween, we sponsor a Halloween Candy Give-Back program in our office. Anyone and everyone is invited to bring in their Halloween candy to donate. We then gather up the candy and send it as a treat to the deployed U.S. troops. In the past, we have collected as much as 300 pounds! When people stop by to drop off their candy, we offer them the opportunity to write a note of gratitude to the troops that we send along with the treats.

Every Halloween, we gather candy and send it to our troops as a token of our gratitude.

Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots

Since 2015, our office has partnered with Toys for Tots as a donation center to accept new, unwrapped toys for children in need. We are always looking for ways we can support our community and those who may be struggling in their lives. While it’s easy to get caught up in the rush of the holidays, we are grateful for the opportunity to give back and think of others during the Christmas season. We will continue to be a donation spot for years to come.
